The first 30 days
It's been a full month since we brought Pip back home to the family. It seems our memories of him on Doggie Death Row have lasted longer than his own. He keeps his own counsel so it's hard to tell. When we brought him home, he had lost about 10 pounds while locked up for 2 weeks. He's now back to a healthy weight and then some. We're using treats as part of his behavior modification program and he's learning quickly that a) responding to us when he'd rather bark his fool head off is lucrative and b) we are indeed overjoyed to see strangers on the street.
More on this last part next time.
